Before it has ended was performed over two consectuative nights in a glass cube at Oxford Art Factory, a live music venue and nightclub along Oxford Street in Sydney. The cube was transformed into a living site-specific installation where I could examine the role of ephemeral materials and gestures within the public space. Likening the glass cube to a living studio space, each act of mark making translated into a rigorous routine of movement and transformation. Structures and figures seen through the glass were responded to through the application of paint, plant arrangements and projection over the course of the two nights. These interventions functioned as a type of altered time-keeping mechanism, recording my exploration during the nights only to disappear at its conclusion.
